Christmas Readings

Each year a make a few recommendations for our congregations Christmas list that I would like to pass along to all. So here we go:

1) Risky Gospel by Owen Strachan (recently released). You can read my review of the book

2) Orphan Justice by Johnny Carr. This is one of the most practical books available on how you can obey the call to be involved in orphan care. You might also check out the web site (www.orphanjustice.com) for more details.

3) Living by the Revealed Truth: The Life and Pastoral Theology of Charles Haddon Spurgeon by Tom Nettles. This is will prove to be onr of the most comprehensive biographies on the life and ministry of Spurgeon. Dr. Nettles also wrote one of the definitive biographies to date on James Pettigru Boyce.

4) From Heaven He Came and Sought Her: Definite Atonement in Historical, Biblical, Theological, and Pastoral Perspective (new release). This will also serve as an  in-depth study tool on definite atonement.particular redemption from all theological disciplines.

5) Torn to Heal: God’s Good Purpose in Suffering by Mike Leake. This book is a Cruciform Press publication – an excellent publisher for short readings on a number of topics.

6) Banner of Truth and Crossway are also running good specials for the holidays (Banner has 48-hour sale ending tomorrow). You might also check out Solid Ground Christian Books.
