Hope for Our Children

Posted: Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Culture

I watch the news each day with a great concern about the future for our children. Our culture and economy leave little room for hope. And then I am reminded that our culture, our economy, our government, not even our churches, are the foundation for our hope. As the hymn write put it, “My hope us built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.”

Therein alone is our hope and the hope for our children. His shed blood for forgiveness of sin and His perfect righteousness in which we are clothed. He is our hope!

Are we setting an example for our children, diligently pointing them to the solid Rock? Do we exude despair at the things of this world or do we demonstrate faith in all things and circumstances? Are we wholly leaning on Him? May we remember, cherish, and be ever thankful for the promises that are ours in Christ Jesus.
