God’s Passion for His Own Glory
I had the privilege last week to once again to serve as camp pastor and preach at the 24th annual Saved by Faith Youth Challenge at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. Our main speaker was Dr. Alvin Reid from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. What a joy it was to meet Dr. Reid and hear him challenge us on the theme, “A Passion for God’s Glory.” My message focused on the truth that before we can properly have a passion for God’s glory we must recognize that our passion for God’s glory is bound up in God’s passion for His own glory and the truth that we are created for God’s glory, we are saved for God’s glory, and we serve for God’s glory. I found this video and played it prior to my sermon. I think you will see that God has much to say concerning His passion for His glory and why we should seek to glorify Him.
